Responsibilities

In the role of Fiber Splicer, you will be accountable for constructing comprehensive fiber optic networks. You believe in getting the job done accurately, being the best at what you do, and you're ready for any challenge.

Additionally, your tasks will include:

  • Testing and diagnosing the continuity of fiber optic systems

  • Operating all testing tools efficiently to resolve issues typical with fiber optic systems

  • Experience preparing splice enclosures such as Tyco, Commscope, Corning etc.

  • Using fusion splicers along with test equipment like OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) 1310/1550 nm wavelengths

  • Understanding fiber design principles including reading documents related to light levels and dB loss

You'll also work on outdoor utility construction sites.

Qualifications

About You:

  • You have a proven history of delivering high-quality work

  • You're adept at solving complex problems with a hands-on approach

  • Seeking long-term projects appeals to you

  • Enjoy collaborating closely with your team

  • Possess 3–5 years' experience in splicing fibers and troubleshooting issues

  • Comfortable working from ladders or lifts

You're adaptable regarding shifts that may include overtime.

MOS Codes V80B, B05A, 3D157 relate well to this role.
