Underground Laborer/Groundman

About the position

As an Underground Laborer/Groundman, you will offer general labor assistance for both aerial and underground construction endeavors. You're committed to getting the job done correctly. You strive for excellence and are ready to tackle challenges.

Your duties will include:

  • Performing various manual tasks like trench digging, unloading supplies, and preparing sites using tools such as shovels, rakes, and picks.

  • Engaging in general labor on construction locations.

  • Assisting with conduit installation as directed by the Foreman or Supervisor.

  • Participating in reading maps and following directions.

  • Aiding with trench excavation and backfilling.

  • Helping move materials and vehicles under guidance from Foreman or Supervisor.

  • Conducting maintenance tasks including cleanup, vehicle washing, landscaping as instructed by the Foreman.

  • Following all safety protocols diligently while using proper protective gear.

  • Operating vehicles from trucks to other equipment as authorized once trained.

You may also:

  • Execute aerial/underground tasks when required.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to RF (Radio Frequency) lines or fiber equipment.

Qualifications

Safety is integral to your daily routine. You consistently deliver high-quality work. Solving complex problems excites you; you prefer hands-on work methodology. You're interested in long-term projects where teamwork involves getting your hands dirty.

Requirements include:

A valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record is essential. Ability to lift up 70 lbs is necessary along with skills in interpreting maps or blueprints effectively for project execution.
