Responsibilities

As a General Manager, you are responsible for all financial aspects of the Area’s operation. The GM is also responsible for implementing and adhering to all Company policies and procedures. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Give direction, guidance, and support to construction and project management departments
  • Develop and direct processes to facilitate the successful completion of projects from start to finish
  • Prioritize projects based on needs and escalation, and assign projects as necessary
  • Regularly evaluate performance and develop your team’s skill set and knowledge of telecom construction
  • Interface with vendors, subcontracts, and the client
  • Drive safety culture

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in project scheduling and the utility construction industry;
  • Experience in project planning/scheduling within the construction industry:
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, with a strong preference and priority placed on Primavera, P6, Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Dynamic 365
  • Requires strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and database applications. Practical knowledge test will be required;
  • An understanding of critical path methodology to ensure, and communicate, timely delivery of milestone tasks;
  • Must be self-motivated.

PREFERENCES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management; Mathematics or Physics preferred;
  • MasTec prefers, but does not require, that candidates have experience in the local area;
  • Candidates with certifications received through Oracle, PMI or other similar organizations focused on recognition of expertise in Project Scheduling and Earned Value Management.

Qualifications

About You:

  • You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
  • You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
  • Safety is a part of your day
  • You have at least 5 years of progressively challenging leadership experience, preferably in a telecom construction environment
  • You embrace the challenge of coaching and mentoring your team and driving change when needed
  • You have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn custom software
  • You have an understanding of basic accounting principals
